Prenatal massage: work confidently and safely

A pregnant client is no reason to say no. You will learn what changes in the body, when massage is not allowed, how to position the client and how to work with back and pelvic pain. Based on research, not myths. Plus — a full session on a real pregnant model.

Ivan Savchenko and a pregnant model during the recording of the “Prenatal massage” course

What you get

A system that turns a pregnant client from a risk into someone who recommends you to every expectant mother she knows. Only what is backed by data, and no scaremongering.

No fear of doing harm

You will know the contraindications and warning signs, so you see pregnant clients calmly instead of turning them away “just in case”.

Data instead of myths

Ivan walks you through the research, so you answer every “is this OK during pregnancy?” with facts, not guesses.

A client for months ahead

Pregnancy lasts for months — that means regular visits. More trust, more bookings.

Who this course is for

For professionals who work with the body. The course speaks to you as a professional, not as an expectant mother.

Massage therapists

Pregnant clients come to you, and you either turn them away or work by guesswork. The course gives you clear boundaries: what is allowed, what is not and why.

Rehabilitation specialists and physical therapists

You want to understand contraindications and work safely with a client during pregnancy.

Trainers, yoga and Pilates instructors, doulas

You need a foundation on the pregnant body, safe exercise and manual techniques for relaxation.

Therapists looking for a new niche

Pregnant women and new mums are a steady source of demand. The course adds a field where few specialists take an evidence-based approach.

Does this sound familiar?

A pregnant client — and you say no

You don’t know exactly what is allowed, so you say “after the birth”. And you lose the client for a year.

Myths in your head

“Pregnant women can’t have massage”, “no sport”, “just lie on the sofa”. Clients hear this everywhere — and then ask you.

They ask about the lower back, pelvis and swelling

Lower back pain, numb hands, swollen legs — and you aren’t sure what you can work with and when it is better to refer her to a doctor.

Unsure about the session itself

How to position her, how long the session lasts, which techniques to leave out — every time feels like the first.

Many prohibitions rest on tradition, not on data. The course looks at what is supported by research and what is a myth.

One in two pregnant women is your potential client

Figures from a course lecture: Ivan breaks them down using research data.

≈50%
of pregnant women have lower back pain — during pregnancy or after giving birth
1 in 3
of them — severe pain, 6–8 out of 10
85%
of women who had back pain in a previous pregnancy have it again in the next one
10%
still have pelvic and lower back pain a year after giving birth

Most of this pain is myofascial: it can be worked on by hand. The key is knowing how to do it safely.

The model in this course is Yuliia, the mother of our son Erik. He took part in creating this course before he was even born, so we set aside 10% of course sales into his account 🤍

How Ivan explains things: student reviews

The course is new, so here are Google reviews of studying at Savia. The online course has the same instructor and the same teaching style.

★★★★★Google · 2024
Before starting, I had three schools to choose from — and I’m grateful my choice fell on Savia. Everything that textbooks make complicated was explained here simply and clearly — even a child would understand :) 80% of the time is practice, and I can confidently start working today, knowing how I can help a person.

I really liked the course, everything was clear and professional. I was surprised by the focus on anatomy and on understanding how the mechanisms of our body work, not just beautiful moves: we were taught to tackle the root of the problem, not just to give people relaxation.

A wonderful school, no exaggeration. The way the material is presented, loads of clear analogies so you really understand — everything is as accessible and clear as it gets. Bearing in mind that I came in from zero, without any background.

Definitely worth going! Great instructors, valuable information without filler: anatomy, practice. They teach you to work with your head, not just your hands. The two weeks of training flew by.

Questions about the course

Do I need a medical background?

No. The course is for massage therapists, rehabilitation specialists and trainers. Ivan explains complex things in plain words and goes through terms — pelvic floor, myofascial pain, contraindications — with examples.

Is it suitable if I have just finished a basic massage course?

Yes, if you already do classic massage: this course adds working with pregnant clients to it. If you don’t have the basics yet, start with the basic course.

How much time does the training take?

Watch at your own pace, on your phone or laptop. Access lasts 6 months, so you will have time to rewatch the difficult topics several times.

How do I practise the techniques without a model? Will there be feedback?

The course has 4 practice videos: Ivan gives a full session on a real pregnant model and comments on every technique — positioning, order of areas, pressure. Massage during pregnancy is done only with the approval of the doctor managing the pregnancy. The course does not include individual feedback on your practice — it is an affordable online format.

How do I get access?

Immediately after payment you receive a link to the learning platform in Telegram with all the lessons. Access lasts 6 months, after which it can be extended: just message us.

Is the course suitable for a pregnant woman herself?

The course is designed for professionals. It will help a pregnant woman understand what is happening to her body, but it does not replace a consultation with the doctor who manages her pregnancy.

Can I pay from abroad?

Yes. We accept Visa and Mastercard cards from any bank; the amount is charged in hryvnias (UAH) at your bank’s exchange rate.

What language is the course recorded in?

The course is recorded in Russian — it is the instructor’s working language, which he has used in his practice for over 18 years. We deliberately state this before payment so that you can make your decision knowing all the terms.

Please note that we are a Ukrainian company and pay taxes only in Ukraine.

We are currently working hard on our Ukrainian so that our next courses can be filmed in Ukrainian ❤️

Can I get a refund?

Yes. If within 14 days you realise the course isn’t right for you, we will refund 100% of the payment. The terms are in the public offer.
